Tropical Architecture Purpose

 Tropical Architecture Goal The main objective of this architectural style is to best adapt the building to a tropical environment, create a comfortable space to live in and use for various daily activities and reduce the use of air conditioning and lighting energy. The building design is expected to be passive (formally and mechanically) to create a comfortable space, keep it cool and bright during the day and not easily damaged by heat and rain.  Definition of Tropical Architecture The word Tropical is a description of the position of an area that has 2 seasons (Rainy and Dry) which is located close to the khatilstiwa line. Indonesia is the best example of a region with a tropical climate character, many traditional buildings in Indonesia show the characteristics of tropical architecture. The tropical climate is known to be ferocious enough to destroy many building materials such as steel and wood. High rainfall makes steel easy to rust and makes wood easy to mold and rot.
